Kapula Camp
The Kapula Camp (Hwange Zimbabwe) is situated adjacent to the famous Masuma dam picnic site. Located in the heart of Hwange National Park. Among others the largest National Park in Zimbabwe. The Kapula Camp is a stone’s throw away from Victoria Falls and the neighbouring countries.
Hwange National Park occupies roughly 15 000km2 in the North West corner of Zimbabwe. You can easily access Hwange and the camp from Botswana, South Africa and Zambia. Game viewing is also excellent in the dry winter months from June to October. During the full moon you can also expect spectacular moonlit game viewing from your tent deck. If you are a bird watcher the summer months from November to May are a special treat. There are over 400 species of birds!
Accommodation:
South Camp has 4 tents. And all of which are en-suite and on a concrete platform on ground level. Tents S1, S2 & S3 can accommodate 2 guests each. You will have the option of either a twin bed or a double bed configuration. Tent S4 is also a family tent and can accommodate for example 2 adults with a twin bed or a double bed configuration. As well as 2 children on two stretchers. Bedding and towels are also included. Lighting is provided for you by solar power. There are no plug points inside the tents
Kitchen Tent
- Large 5x5m kitchen tent equipped with steel lockup cupboards. Tables and shelving and all the required kitchenware.
- There is a fridge, deep freeze and 2 X 2-plate gas stoves for guests. You will share this facility by all guests staying at the camp.
- Pots & pans, cooking utensils, crockery & cutlery supplied. Glasses and black storage bins to store your food are also provided.
- You should bring your own glasses and kitchen equipment for use at the public picnic sites, game viewing hides and on game drives.
- For staying at Kapula you need only to bring your own food and drinks.
- Limited firewood is supplied by Kapula camp for the donkeys’ hot water boilers and the fire pit.
Game Viewing Platform
- A timber deck viewing platform raised approx. 1.6meters above the ground which gives you an excellent view over Kapula Vlei. This platform has also canvas walls and roof with dining room table and chairs and couches. It is a wonderful area to pass the time watching game activity in the Kapula Vlei when not exploring the area with your own vehicle. You will share this facility with all guests staying at the camp.
- Plug points are available for charging cellphone and camera batteries only. No kettles or hair dryers or any other electrical appliances are allowed.
- The South Camp tents can be booked as individual units. If there is more than one party in camp guests will share the facilities.
- Only tent 4 can accommodate children sharing with adults.
Maximum number of guests in camp at one time is 10 including children.
Kapula’s friendly staff will welcome you. The staff will service and clean the camp daily. Also they will make the fires for the hot water and the fires for the evening braais.
