Kongola

Along the Trans Caprivi highway you will find the small town of Kongola. This village with 4200 inhabitants offers a good stopover in the Caprivi Strip. The supermarket and the gas station in the village are useful for provisions and refueling. The village consists mainly of houses and cabins of the local population.

To the west and south of Kongola lies the Kwando River. This river attracts many animals so you can spot a lot of game in this area. In the many reserves in the area you can make good game drives. A special feature of the Caprivi Strip is that it is much greener than the rest of Namibia. Because of the many rivers that flow through this area there is a lot of green and therefore a lot of wild animals.
