Marakele National Park

Marakele National Park is characterized by impressive mountain landscapes, rolling hills and deep valleys. It is a relatively small park, but large game species. Elephants and rhinos live here. And also buffaloes, leopards and cheetahs have their habitat here. The lion and the spotted hyena are the only large predators in the Marakele National Park. Marakele National park is malaria free.

Impressive in the park is also the gigantic colony of Cape vultures. With more than 800 breeding pairs, the colony is one of the largest in the world. The Marakele National Park is an excellent place to look for birds of prey. In addition to the vultures, there are several special species of eagle in the park, including Black Eagle, African Hawk, Black-breasted Snake and Brown Snake Eagle.

The park is located about 200 kilometers above Pretoria and the park is perfect for discovering your 4×4 rental car.
