Waterberg Plateau National Park
The Waterberg Plateau National Park is located in central Namibia. The park is 405 km² in size and was opened by the local Ministry of Environment and Tourism in 1972. Many endangered species have been placed in the park to allow their populations to grow again. This area is particularly suitable for short or long hikes. You can go hiking yourself up to the foot of the mountain. If you want to proceed further, you need a guide.
The reception of the Waterberg Plateau offers route booklets with different hikes. The park also offers guided culture tours, whereby a tour guide shows you the area from a jeep.
Selfdrive4x4.com offers several self drive trips through Namibia and the Waterberg Plateau National Park.
